Procedure to install Android on pc

              Google has introduced the latest software update Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 for its Nexus devices. Following this many smartphone manufacturers have upgraded their devices to this latest software update.
           
              Good news is that you can install Jelly Bean 4.2.2 on your pc. I have installed this software on my laptop and its working fine. So here are the steps that you should follow to install Jelly Bean on your pc.

1. Install the latest version of VirtualBox on your pc.
    Download Android x86  4.2 image   iso file.
2. Open VirtualBox and select new. Enter the following in the dialog box that pops up.
    Type: Linux
    Version: Other Linux
    And then select Next.
3. In the next dialog box, enter the memory size as you wish(Minimum size is 512MB) and                     select next.
4. In the next dialogue box select create a virtual hard drive now. Then select VDI and select fixed or dynamically allocated according to your choice and create the virtual drive(Minimum size is 1GB).
5. Select Virtual device then select Settings, a dialogue box will appear. In the dialogue box select
Storage>> Storage Tree>> Empty
In the attributes section, select the Android 4.2 iso file downloaded earlier and check Live CD/DVD then click OK.
6. Start the virtual device. On the screen select Install Android-x86 to harddisk.
7. On the next screen select Create/Modify partitions.
8. Create a new primary bootable partition and select Write. After finishing writing select Quit.
9. Install Android in sda1 and select type and ext3, choose Yes for installing grub.
10. After installing, remove live iso from VirtualBox and reboot. Boot into Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

If you have followed these instructions, Jelly Bean would have been installed on your pc.

Rooting your Android Smartphone

Hello guys,
        Today I am going to speak about Rooting Android Smartphone. Most of the entry level smartphone comes with either Froyo 2.2.2 or Gingerbread 2.3.3 (Even I am having LG Optimus One). And also they don't support up-gradation due to their hardware limitations.

        But we all know, there is a possibility to hack everything in this technical era. So you can install even the latest O.S on your android. The O.S that comes along with the device when you buy is called Stock Rom. Installing a new O.S unofficially or without official update is called Installing Custom Rom.

       In order to install Custom Rom on your device, your device have to be rooted first. Rooting an Android phone means getting SuperUser access on your phone which enables you to do a lot of things on your phone which are not possible otherwise. To root your device, follow the steps below.

1. Enable USB debugging on your phone by going to Settings –> Applications –> Development. Check the ‘USB Debugging’ option.
2. Make sure you have a SD card inserted and mounted in your phone (Don’t know if it’s necessary but before proceeding further I formatted my SD card after taking a backup of the data in it. Why take a risk? )
3. Download the GingerBreak APK from XDA Developers and get it onto your phone.
4. Install it by browsing to the GingerBreak APK in any file manager.
5. Open GingerBreak from your app drawer and press the root button.
6. Wait for a few minutes. If there are no problems, the device will reboot itself. (The reboot will take quite some time.)
7. You will see a SuperUser app in your app drawer after the reboot. Open it and see if it is working.
8. You now have a rooted your phone.
